The History Of SlayerX SlayerX has been writing, performing, mixing, and recording music for over 4 years. He has been singing and writing lyrics since he was 10 years old and playing guitar for 6 years. With a drive to be different and bring his fans a message they can relate to, SlayerX, continues to relentlessly record and post track after track, day after day, ensuring his fans always have something fresh to listen to and relate to. As a struggling and/or "starving" artist he doesn't make music for money, fame, or recognition, but to make a difference. "It's not about the money, fame, or popularity. Its about the message. Its about moving people. Its about changing lives. It's about making a difference." --SlayerX-- SlayerX has worked on several main projects over the last 4 years including Monoxide (a pop/punk band from Bend, OR), Steel Abyss (originally a goth/rock/alternative band founded by SlayerX in 2005 now dissolved in 08), Fragile (his acoustic solo project), and his most recent project, a self titled solo electro/industrial/alternative/rock project also based out of Eugene, OR. As a home studio producer SlayerX has had the privilege of working with many bands and musicians with a wide variety of styles. For example, he has had the privilege to record No Longer Demur, collaborate with Brandon Sills and Arcane Addiction on a number of projects including Medical Records (a small indie record company based out of Portland, OR), and has helped record a few solo artists and dj's for little to no cost. He has established relations with many indie record labels, other home studio producers, promoters, club owners, and musicians across the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. and has proved himself to be not only a musician, but also a producer and a friend of music lovers and dreamers everywhere. Addiction, murder, suicide, hate, pain, sorrow, love, happiness, living life to the fullest, friends, family, sex, hypocrisy, regret, compassion, apathy and fear are just some of the issues that we all face in our lives on a day to day basis. These are also just some of the issues that SlayerX addresses with his music, allowing the listener to relate to someone, find truth and power in the lyrics of the songs he writes and the poetry their based on, and use the wisdom they find to cope with their struggles and empower themselves to become a better person and face the demons that they must face in their own lives. His music is deeply personal and theres is something everyone can relate to in almost ever track. In August of 2007, SlayerX began work on his epic electro/industrial/alternative/rock solo project. The title for the debut album is simply code named "Xmix" and no release date or official title has been uttered yet. Demo tracks are however already being displayed here and @ www.steelabyss.com. So keep your eyes and ears pealed for an inside look at the evolution of SlayerX's 1st solo album and more tracks coming soon. CoolChaser.com 2008 SlayerX and Steel Abyss.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I don't play live at the moment but I allow dj's to spin my tracks and remixes live and help throw live events, promote electronic music gatherings, and occasionally have my music played over bar and club stereo systems.
Your musical influences
I have been heavily influenced by the bands Korn, Kittie, Marylin Manson, Garbage, VNV Nation, Rob Zombie, Zombie Girl, Infected Mushroom, General Midi, Slipknot, Smashing Pumpkins, Muse, Lords Of Acid, God Module, Dj Juicy, Arcane Addiction, Child, Debris, etc.
What equipment do you use?
Right now I record all of my midi with an Alesis photon X 25 using Reason 4, Acid 6, FL 8, and VST programs and synths.
Anything else?
