As twenty first century Beijing blossoms into a cosmopolitan hub of culture and creativity, perhaps it was fate that led four artists from different parts of the globe to come together in this ancient city to create a unique sound for the new century.
Made of Sound - an American, a Canadian and two Brits - has known each other for nearly a year before they were able to devote the time needed to channel their uniquely international sound into the creation and production of their debut album Made In China.
Made of Sound has produced an album that defies categorization, drawing inspiration from the music of Africa, The Far East, Native America, The Middle East and pretty much everywhere else, from a western perspective. There's everything from rap to Native chanting and every instrument from saxophone to the Japanese koto; the only real constants are the evocative vocals, hypnotic harmonies and frenetic percussion blended with grooving, sexy bass-lines.

It took some time for the forces of the universe to get us all together that Halloween evening, 2007. The endless conversations we'd each had about getting together sometime and making something totally unrestrained are finally realized. Having put it off for long enough and with booking agents clamoring for some kind of demo, we gathered into the studio.
An amazing but exhausting night later, with Beijing's frozen dawn already broken, we came up with the song, "Samhain" (the old Irish name for Halloween, meaning summer's end) and with it Made In China is born.
We'd just set out to create a few tracks, but that evening we had such an amazing creative vibe that we all immediately decided we had to do a full album. Within a few days we were already putting the finishing touches on the next song "Ascenscion".
From that point the momentum began to build and, despite the numerous distractions of tour dates and producing other projects, somehow track after track continued to fall into place. After half a year of recording at every opportunity, we finally finished.Your musical influences
