Who iz June?? Well June's a starving artist from Chicago with dreams as big as the Sears Tower and as long as the Mississippi River. Born in Roseland hospital 1987 to Clarissa Thomas and Jody Marshall. With a house full of 4 kids and me bein the youngest I was forced to be independent at a very young age. I learned the music game from my oldest sister Rasheda ( Koela) and my grandpa ( Pretty Willie) an blues legend in chicago.I had so much on my head as a youngster and moms always told me to write down my thoughts they'll be worth money one day, so i started writing poetry. I started rapping @ 12, converting poems to real life situations over a beat with alot of bass. In June 9th songs u get the truth, I experience whatever I write and half the time I dont write I domed a couple songs, hooks and all. I grew up on the southside of the Chi' ( Chicago) Lowend and I seen alot during my years here. I hung around the drug dealers, I kick it in the projects, I watch friends get shot or do shootings I'm HOOD!!!! On the otherhand, I was 110% lady everyday thats just how moms raised me and my siblings to be but I love the streets. I'm a true Gemini when it comes to my guys I like so many different kinds. I like the nerdy, dont smoke or drink school boy khaki pants type, then its the working type who know what it feels like to slave to get something, then its the balla kind who says money aint a thing get u whatevr u want type, the pretty boy gotta to take him around all yo fam and friends the trophy type, The older head whose experience and know the game type and last but not least the hardcore i been shot a few times sold drugs been to jail type. I talk about all them in my songs. Yes I've been in love before its so easy 2 fall in love it's just that falling out of it thats hard as hell. I make songs that the ladies can relate 2, that the guys can penetrate 2 and the hood could celebrate 2. I'm here 4 my fans real talk and all the producers who worked overtime with me, all the guys who broke my heart and help me make that hit record about them. I'm just tryna live my dreams a wise man once said shoot for the moon even if u miss you'll still fall amongst the stars!!!!!!!Have you performed in front of an audience?Never played live but its 1 of those things i know thats scheduled on my to do list. I truely believe I'll enjoy it just because it's something different and it gives off a whole differ approach to the audience.
Your musical influences
I'm influence by the struggle!!!! My biggest influences are my parents Clarissa and Jody they help created me eventhough I cant pay em back my plan is 2 show em I understand. Other than them Lil KIM she cold I listen to how she spit and how she keeps it real no bull, Foxy's another gutta 1. Eve's more commerical but she makes hits thats what its all about right. Ah I cant 4get Remy Ma she's also da truth believe dat and the list goes on and on......... Gotta big up my Chi-Town fam Shawna and Da Brat tat tat they paved the way for the girl love yall for that!!!!What equipment do you use?
As of right now. I'm usin Cubase and Acid but I'm in a new studio starting 2morrow so its protools for now on!!!
