Chicago - 2001. Indie label On Ten Records & Producer Chris Casino started their run of critically acclaimed & street underground hip hop discs with “On Ten Runnit”, following up with Casino’s first solo release “Go 2 Hell or Some Other Big City” in 04’. The summer of 06’ brought the heat with “Volume Ten” & it’s “Blunts & B-sides” companion disc. During that time, Casino produced several indie film scores along with music for commercials ranging from the local midwest to MTV & DVD magazines “Gypsy Style” & “Vixxxen”. 2008. Chris Casino definitely has his hands full - not only is he writing, producing & mixing his latest projects “Boom!Box” & “The Legendary Slick Chris”, but he is also producing Hip Hop releases from On Ten Records artists Novacane, Agile, & the songstress Zerrin. He’s also working on various film & video game scores & commercials. Not to mention keeping fresh & exclusive instrumentals for sale online. “My music is potent hip hop...edgy, melodic & bass filled beats mixed with real but funny & thought-provoking songs about lives in these days & times. I usually compose my tracks first, then I write my songs. The subjects are inspired by the beats - but - the beat isn’t the star of the song, neither are the lyrics - both have to be equally as Hot! I try to make sure that when you listen to my music, that the song, score or whatever is going to pull that raw emotion out of you whether it’s laughing & playing around - having a good time, sadness, or inciting angry madness, & that my lyrics are accurate & honest. Plus I get the job done when I’m in the studio.” “Go check out & listen to the 5 discs & other projects I’ve produced right here. It’s Production...& Rawness with the Pen...it’s Entertainment for the world wherever you are from or at. My music is like a (real - not fake) Air Jordan: so many different ones you like - styles & colors. I try to stay giving a bit of something everybody can bump & enjoy - that is - if you wanna bump & enjoy - it’s Chris Casino Music ya’ll!” http://www.wgci.com/cc-common/artist_submission/player.html?art=177786 Pass these links along and support Indie Labels, Hip Hop, On Ten Records & Music period ya'll...100 Billion! www.chriscasinomusic.com http://www.sonicbids.com/ChrisCasino http://www.myspace.com/ontenrecords http://www.myspace.com/chriscasinobeats
Band/artist history
“Got Instruments - but when I first heard Rap music? / I was that Chicago shorty that knew everybody’s lyrics. / & by the time Rappers cussed and sold drugs on wax / it was so many mountains of dope in my crib - I just didn’t understand. / Cube said “F#*! The Police”, my Pops was the police / but he was selling so much D. to the streets. / So I’m like F#*! it - cause this - dirty dirt was all I knew / rhymes, crimes, schemes - straight illegal activities. / & God was like this magical being you prayed to / to keep from going broke or dying when enemies were coming for you. / By the time I knew the difference between “really-right” & “really-wrong” / Pops was gone & Moms was off on float - you know how half the dealers fall. / I had to grow up so fast it had to be like 93’ / A’s & B’s from school was getting slim & the Music started calling me. / Couldn’t hear what it was saying while I worked those Studios / getting a little dough at 16 years old without the folks. / It all equalled up to broke, so naturally what I know? / Get the bread by selling dope - ya’ know - trees, rocks & blows. / But Chuck said “BASE!!!” - I ain’t wanna sell crack... / Plus smoked too much weed to really come up off that. / 2 blunts was 10 bucks & MPC’s was 3G’s / Poor boy started checking G’s - copping equipment swift & easily. / I had to be - like - 17 when I produced my first songs / at 19, my first CD in between me coming home / from gangs of County trips - youngin’ then, on B.S. / But screwed my head on correct to prevent another “X” / More albums - more checks - more connects is where I’m at / Chris Casino - Producing Heat - chop up the math.”
