My name is Scott Pike.
I started NITROSTAR as a solo project in 2004.
I record "LIVE' performances of the material that I write.
A true soloist, I am playing everything you hear.
I am especially fond of Progressive Rock and write in that fashion.
Similarities to other Progressive Bands is to be expected.
Band/artist history
I started NITROSTAR in 2004.
I currently have published only1 CD.
I have copywritten 6 others with the Library of Congress.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I have been working in the studio mostly.
I do play out when I can, benifits and such.
I have always enjoyed the interaction of playing live.
Both with the audience and the other musicians.
Your musical influences
My favorite music is the Progressive bands of the 60's and 70's.
King Crimson, Moody Blues, Procol Harum, Genesis, Yes, ELP, Gentle Giant.
When Prog became unfashionable, I started writting my own.
I sometimes felt as though I carried the torch alone.
In 2007 I discovered Porcupine Tree and Steven Wilson.
I was glad to see that someone else was writting and performing Progressive Rock, currently.
I have since found other groups carrying on the tradition as well.
There seems to be a certain revival of Progressive Rock and I hope to continue to be a part of it, The good Lord willing.
What equipment do you use?
(Front) Roland XP-50 (loaded), Korg KARMA w/ MOSS
(Left) Korg Micro-Korg, Prophet 5, rev. 3
(Right) Korg Electribe ER-1, Korg Electribe EA-1 mk II, Yamaha S-90
(Rear) Roland SH-210, Korg Wavestation EX.
Anything else?
I record with a Tascam 2488 neo.
