Band/artist history
I started playing guitar when I was 14. That would be in 1994, by the way. I'm completely self taught. I used an old acoustic that was lying around. And found an old guitar teaching book that i used to learn some chords. I got my first electric guitar a couple of years later which is the harmony in the picture. That guitar has always held a little sentimental value and I wish I had never gotten rid of it. I wrote my first song on that guitar, (It's Not my Place to Pry). About a year after that I discovered the music of Joe Satriani and instantly became a fan. That's when I decided to go out and buy my first Ibanez. Since then the only guitar I will spend a larger amount of money has to be an Ibanez. A few years after that I ran into some money issues and ended up selling my guitars. However I managed to turn things around and eventually decided to buy another guitar. I was a little short on cash though and had to do some searching, but I found out that a store had an old harmony collecting dust in the back and I managed to get it for a meager 35 bucks. Now before you laugh and be like wow you spent money on a harmony, remember Harmony holds sentimental value with me, and I really wanted to start playing again. Anyway, over the past years, I wrote a bunch of other songs. Then after I bought a new Ibanez. I decided to put my songs into a CD to get some response on my music. So I spent my time creating the 17 Miles from Somewhere album on my computer, and distributed it to my friends and family. However not all the songs were recorded off the Ibanez. Some were recorded using the harmony. My dad had a 30 some year old Kingston 12 string lying around in his garage. I asked him what he was going to do with it, and he said if I fixed it and took care of it I could have it. So I fixed it up and restrung it and I couldn't be happier. Pancakes and Tangerine Dreams was written on the 12 string.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I will do live shows once a Find a band. Right now i just play for friends and family.
Your musical influences
I would have to say I've been influenced by a lot of musicians. I listen to all types of music. My favorite artist is Joe Satriani, but I like a lot of other music. I would have to say it's not the music that influences me, but the feeling put into it. I always put my entire soul into every song I write, because the soul is where true artistry should come from.
What equipment do you use?
My Guitar is an Ibanez GIO. Right Now I use a Little Dinosaur Amp that i have hooked up to my Stereo. A Soundtank Delay Pedal and A distortion pedal that I don't know the brand of. For the Drums and Other stuff I use my PS2 with MTV Music generator 2. Then everything is hooked up to my computer where I use Kristal Audio Engine to do all the Recordings.
