The smooth, soulful sound of Canadian born Phil Jensen, will move you, make you dance and have you swooning all with one song. His tender, romantic lyrics coupled with a blend of rock, jazz and country is attracting the attention of a broad audience, making it accessible to both young and old.
Currently residing in Denver, CO, Phil has been teaching guitar, writing songs, recording and producing for the past eight years. His playful sound and comforting voice are influenced by great artists including Lyle Lovett, Steely Dan and James Taylor, providing the singer/songwriter with eclectic material from which to draw inspiration. His song, Point the Way, a catchy and up-beat piece, offers a positive message of love and will have you smiling the whole way through. With a clean sound and sensitive lyrics, Phils music is refreshing in a period of oftentimes harsh and angry music.
Phil recorded his first CD in 2001 entitled Point the Way. The title track garnered airplay in July 2002, hitting the #13 spot on the Adult Contemporary FMQB chart and has been played on 66 stations around the country. He is currently working on his second CD to be released in Spring 2008, entitled Smile, which is exactly what it will make you do, says the artist. Phils original Christmas song Oh Silent Night went to #23 after only three weeks on FMQB, just this past December 2007. His newest release will also include the beautiful love song "By My Side" which was produced by and features Warren Hill on the sax, a chart topping Smooth Jazz and Adult Contemporary artist.
Phil has been playing throughout Colorado on a regular basis for the past several years, at local venues, summer festivals and wedding ceremonies and receptions. He is also producing a young female artist from Charlotte, NC and a young male singer/songwriter from Denver, CO for his indie label Monkey Boy Records.
Phils music will touch your heart and have you coming back for more. He says, Good things come to those who live right, work hard and put their heart and soul into everything they do, which is precisely how this artist will continue to pursue his musical aspirations.
