Akamai Brain Collective
In Hawaiian, the word Akamai means "witty," "clever," or "intelligent." The music of Akamai Brain Collective brings together the wisdom and musical know-how of three Hawaii locals raised in the Islands, but schooled at two of the world's finest music schools: New England Conservatory and Berklee College of Music.
Fusing elements of jazz, blues, exotica, latin, classical and pop, Abe Lagrimas, Jr. (20), Randy Wong (22) and Eric Lagrimas (26) create a fresh style of music they call "progressive island jams".
Abraham Lagrimas, Jr:

Randy Wong:

Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Abe picked up the ukulele for the first time in March 2003. What came out was pure magic! After playing the uke at several gigs throughout the Boston area, Akamai Brain Collective was formed in August 2003. Abe, Randy and Eric wrote a whole bunch of songs and recorded them in Eric's basement studio. They completed an album of 8 songs in 1 1/2 weeks. Scheduled release: November 2003. Please come back for more info!
