Let's Get Alone Let's Get Alone
Featuring a rap by Kweku Kwofie, this funky/jazzy tune delves into the the day-to-day balancing act of doing what you ought to be doing versus doing what you know will feel good at the time. Written while touring in New Zealand, I found this theme cr

Worst Kind of Perfect Worst Kind of Perfect
Lyrically this tune describes a budding 'perfect' relationship that occurs during an imperfect time. Musically it represents this conflict by superimposing a traditional jazz AABA structure over the top of the conventional Pop form (verse chorus vers

Instead of break-up songs, I tend to write nearly-broken-up songs. That point where you really need someone to be honest because otherwise you are both wasting each other's time. This theremin-tinged twang rock waltz was heavily influenced by the Alt

Touch Touch
Beatbox Rock dealing with that most basic of human interactions. ''Touch' is a track that does not allow you to sit still and uses Hammond's beat boxing and some beats and sounds that reminded me of Stevie Wonder.' - Darryl Gregory from Indie-Music.c
ROCK: featuring singer / songwriter / beatboxer Ben Hammond's unique brand of Acoustic Soul-Pop.
Born in the tiny town of Hiram, Maine and graduated in 2006 with a degree in Music Technology from McGill University in Montreal, Ben Hammond has been touring and playing festivals (including the Montreal Jazz Festival) and venues (Montreals Sala Rossa and Metropolis, Antifolk in New York City, many more). Recent appearances and activities have ranged from tours of his home in rural New England to across the world in New Zealand, composing original songs, and most recently completing his full length studio album [Reasonably] Honest with full band and Downbeat Magazine award winning mixer Reuben Ghose. Schooled in jazz, raised on rock, immersed in soul, and fascinated with music the world over, Ben can just as easily be found strumming and singing a ballad as he can live looping an a cappella improvisation of Tuvan throat singing, beatboxing, and harmonized scatting. When performing his composed material, either as a soloist or with his quartet, the music features Bens engaging, soulful vocals weaved within a framework of genre-shifting instrumentation which provides a platform for contemplative, understated lyrics.
