Blood Boys Pride consists of a good 2 dozen members; DJs, rockers, breakers, and last but not least emcees. This sites dedicated to the only 2 currently in the group, going by the names of Personel Caliber and MC Square. MC Square's style usually consists of very direct, realistic, and down to earth lyrics combined with a signature sound and flow that make him so unique and such a pleasure to listen to. Personel's style is dirtier, somewhat more controversial, but his lyrics have very powerful meaning, and incredible rhyming skills that make you want to keep on listening. Personel is of asian origin, yet is in a league of his own in skill and style when compared to any other asian rapper out there. All in all, were a pair of 14 year old rappers with skills and flow that I doubt you will ever hear anywhere else.Band/artist history
The whole thing started back in 1999 when we were both in kindergarten, I having recently immigrated to Canada, speaking little English, by chance met Personel, and we quickly became friends, remaining so till this very day. Although in middle school our paths separated for some time, seeing as we moved to opposite ends of town, we met up one day and started talking about how our lives were goin, and by complete coincidence realized we were both starting to write rap, me having been inspired by a rap group that came to my school earlier that year, and Personel because he had a rich background in music, decided to try sumthin new. We then started collaborating our efforts, slowly improving along the way, and about a year from then started lookin for a label to sign us, or some hope of bein heard by others, and eventually started writin what looked to be our first album together. And so that brings us to where we are at now, writin and recordin our debut album, Lead & Aces, due to come out this July. Clearly we dont have much history under our feet as rappers, but its goin down as we speak, were history in the makin so watch out rap industry were comin!!Have you performed in front of an audience?We are doing a few pre-release shows to buy ourselves studio time and proper recording equipment, and we are going to have our first big show sometime late this summer, it will be free, email us at bloodboyspride@hotmail.com if ya interested in comin.
Your musical influences
Both of our styles have been greatly influenced by the Canadian rapper Classified, hes a killer MC reppin Halifax on the east coast, but other than that weve been influenced by just about every decent rapper out there, including each other, so its pretty hard to put us in a particular category when it comes to style.What equipment do you use?
Technically, we dont need much more than a simple recording program, pen and paper, and a mike to create great music. The most important tool of all always was, still is and always will be your your mind, and you can do great things with it if ya dont give up and keep goin.Anything else?
