Second Last Minute Second Last Minute
Title track to my first album, Second Last Minute, originally recorded in 2002, but released in June of 2008
The songs on this page are part of an album i've just released this summer called Second Last Minute. Originally recorded in the summer of 2002, this album was put on the back burner while i focused on my freelancing career in NYC. This year however, a production company (V.O. Productions), in conjunction with my newly formed company (KeRaGe Productions), decided it was time to finish the album and release it to the masses via iTunes and Amazon.com. So the songs Firewater and Second Last Minute are two mp3 samples for your listening pleasure. To get the whole album, you can simply check into iTunes or Amazon and search under my name.
Soon, once my studio is completed, i will begin rerecording a ton of new material that has been on the back burner, as well my experimental duo project called F.U.B.A.R., as well as my side metal project (yet to be named, but we're working on that :D )
For more info on what else is happening, you can check me out at either my main page here on soundclick, or at www.myspace.com/kennystix , or at my music page on myspace (linked under the Band website).
Thanks for stopping by!
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Play live rather consistently in New York, but do travel out of state/country a fair amount.
Your musical influences
I'd have to say (though, it may not necessarily be heard in the music), but my family (specifically, my dad, step dad, and grandfather), are pretty major musical influences. They all were musicians (drummer, bassist/pianist/arranger, and singer respectively), and were the first real musicians i've ever met or dealt with. Aside from them, musicians such as Allan Holdsworth, Gonzalo Rubalbcaba, Brand X, Meshuggah, Perotin, Weather Report, Vinnie Colaiuta Tony Williams, Herbie Hancock, Jimi Hendrix, The Police, Tool, King Crimson, Old school Genesis and Yes, Rush, Stone Temple Pilots, Sound Garden,Stephen Scott, Aphex Twin, Bjork, A Tribe Called Quest, Kim Burrell, Scarve, Yerba Buena, Klimax, Los Van Van, Ray Barreto, plus, a whole lot more ( ;) ) are all musicians that to this day have such an impact on how i hear the world around me and how i listen, write, and take in music.
What equipment do you use?
Right now, i have an Ibanez S7320 with some DiMarzio pu's, and a Fender American Standard Strat (fender lace pu's in that one :/... need to switch those out soon) I also have an Ibaenz RG 7620 in gunmetal grey as well, (again, DiMarzio's in that guitar as well).
Mesa Boogie Subway Rocket, Line6 pod 2.0, and a bunch of other stomp boxes and such.
Fender Precision bass (with added jazz pu by the bridge),
a Yamaha Recording Custom (circa 1990) in a Cherry finish (10x12, 12x12, 14x14, 16x16, 22x16),
Snares: Pearl Dennis Chambers model, 14x6, Ludwig supertone 14x6, Noble and Cooley 14x5, (2) Pearl Free Floating piccolo's 14x 3 1/2, Roger's 14x5 1/2, Pearl popcorn snare (hate that name) 10x3, and a bunch of other crap...
cymbals, a lot. just take a guess, there's Tons...
i dont know, there's lots of things i use and sometimes borrow, but there you have it...
