Mary Richards is nationally known as a certified hypnotherapist, educational consultant, psychologist, and university professor. Mary is one of the country's leading experts in the use of relaxation techniques and hypnotherapy to ease pain and promote healing. She became an expert in self-help the hard way. Critically injured in an accident, she was severely disabled for three years and was told she would never be able to return to active clinical practice. For six months Mary virtually spent four hours a day practicing deep relaxation meditation, accessing her inner will to help her get well. She felt that the answers and the will to cause change lie within. Mary says, "fortunately, when your mind is deeply relaxed, it doesn't analyze, criticize, overact, or interfere, so it can be guided through positive step-by-step instructions toward change." Mary's own healing began with the same life-enhancing methods she now shares through her self-help CDs. Toward the end of her long recovery period Mary had begun a client practice again. Soon, the demand for her relaxation techniques had grown so large that hse turned to cassette tapes as a means of instructing the growing audience in self-help techniques. She also felt that there were others who, like herself, were healing or coping with change and would like to work in the privacy of their own home. Essentially, Mary's experience with clients had already developed her insight into the role the mind plays in pain control. Combining this insight with her own healing experience with deep relaxation, she created the Master Your Mind self-help systems on CD. Their messages provide a working and relaxing, helpful tool to assist the listener in identifying their own barriers to making quality choices. Today, Mary Richards' Master Your Mind self-help and Inner Peace Music collection includes over 200 titles. The majority of these CDs were developed through many decades of clinical practice working with actual clients.
