Be With You Be With You
They say every time someone dies, a brand new baby is born; If that’s the case.....I thank the guy who gave his life so I can be here. December 2nd , 1991 , a prince was born. My name is Darryl J. Mims , Im 16 years young , and I was born in a Paterson hospital, but I reside in the city of East Orange, New Jersey. I feel that im blessed because I live with both my parents but sometimes it’s a different long story......but anyways .... I was always into different types of music and somewhere around the age of 8 I started getting into rapping, but I really wasn’t seriously doing it, so I guess I took a long break until middle school. Once I got into middle school , you can say I started seeing the world more differently. I seen my friends turn phoney, I seen people get sprung off of drugs and I seen all the beautiful girls (Lmao). Maybe I wasn’t the most popular person in school, but deep down inside , I know if I was , I could make big moves. That’s when 7th grade came. I started to get a little more popular but I still was considered a little geek or a nerd or whatever you want to call it. That’s when I met one of my friend’s Samir who goes by the name of Bonafide now. One day in class I seen him writing something and I came up to him like , " Yo , whatchu writing son ? " and I think he said something like , " Im writing raps. " So that little 6th sense I had for rapping came out again. I told him that I was rapping a couple of years ago and I stopped because I had writer’s block all the time or something like that. So we used to chill and write lyrics together ever since. So that’s when 9th grade year came. I started seeing the world differently again because this time, all my friends and everyone I knew hoped into this little gang mess. I don’t knock the people that’s in gangs because I guess you gotta do what you gotta do , but it was the fact that it was the people I least expected. Once the school year got settled in I met another friend of my named Bertrand but he goes by the name of B-Hud. Once I found out that he could rap too...I started taking my skills to the next level by rapping around in the school’s cafeteria along with a good 3 other rappers. As the school year started wrapping up, I tried to mess with my computer program that let’s me record music and thinking logically enough, I was able to make a couple of tracks and made a little c.d with 10 tracks; I started passing them around school and gotten some much hard critisim that it made me mad. I got to admit though, even though my ryhmes was hot , my quality was real whack ! Once I recovered from the critism, I got back on the mic and started making adjustments and made another cd by the beginning of 10th grade. Now im in the 11th with around 70 songs under the belt and im still doing me. Im really trying to step my game up every year so I can do bigger and better things. ( no homo ) If you are a producer reading this, please take the time out to listen to my music and if you hear something you like, please tell me so we can make the record deal official-tissue.
