James Conway has been playing his own music since 1983.
He has done studio work for many artist over the years and now tours with the "James Conway Project" with Tommy Scheel (bass,vox) and John DeVlieg (drums).

Band/artist history
James Conway is a veteran of the Detroit music scene. Starting in 1982 in a Metal band "Purgatory" and later as one of the lead guitarist of the Metal band "Carbide" which its members would later splinter off into bands such as Tiles,Sponge,Subject to Change,Shotgun Logic,Thrown. After recording several solo C.D.'s,James has put this band together to re-emerge as an addition to the already great musicians and bands that he has a great respect for. James Conway Project is a band that plays original music and selected cover tunes that reflect the guitarist and bands he listened to coming up...Rush,Judas Priest,UFO,Robin Trower,Joe Satriani and others. The songs on this site are instrumentals,vocal tunes are in the works.
In 1989, James won the guitar competition for "Guitar for the practicing musician magazine".......
Currently James is doing shows with"James Conway Project" with Tommy Scheel on vocals and bass,John DeVlieg on drums.

Playing live shows is really the other side of the coin for most musicians,recording and composition is the other side.
We mostly play in the midwest of the U.S.
always looking to branch out,would love to play some European countries,
I think we would do very well.
Your musical influences
well,I started out playing classical guitar and then got into bands like Led Zeppelin,Deep Purple,Black Sabbath...moving on to Rush,Tangerine Dream,Iron Maiden....but also Pat Metheny,George Benson,SRV..and Joe Satriani,Steve Vai,Eric Johnson.
What equipment do you use?
Guitars:Gibson,Ibanez,Fender.
Amps:Marshall,sometimes Vox
effects:AMT California Sound Distortion,Morley Bad Horsie Wah,Rocktron Compressor,EH Small Stone,Digitech Delays and Chorus.
