Band/artist history
Tempercalm were brought together in July 2003 by a lightning flash of genius within the confines of the thriving city of Glasgow, Scotland. By self-producing, self-releasing and self-promoting their own music to start the ball rolling, the band quickly developed a name for themselves within Glasgow and soon the word spread to the four corners of the country. If you regularly ingest assaulting, melodic, yet sometimes challenging and experimental music with a double edge of hard and mellow, Tempercalm are the perfect band for you, your friends, for everyone. With an early video created by the band of a track entitled “Blocking My Own Shadow” on national TV channel, SCUZZ, the band’s name was spread even further, tightly establishing them right across the UK. Having recently signed to Aberdonian label Seventh Street Records U.K, Tempercalm set about recording their official debut E.P and began recording in late 2004. The E.P, entitled So Ventura, was unleashed on the public on April 18th, preceeded by a downloadable single "I NEED A CO-PILOT" in January. The EP features artwork of Virtual Stereo Design artist Tony Proud. With 5 rip-roaring tracks, taking you to hell and back, this CD is guaranteed to be what you’d want to be listening to, no matter what. 2005 saw not only a new release, but also a new member. Scott Manson replaced original drummer Simon Doherty on drums in February
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Widespread UK touring got underway in 2005 with new drummer Scott Manson. Up to this point most shows were played in or around Glasgow, about 30 - 35 in a year, which seems alot but has gained the band a widespread name. More touring is planned for the future.
