Red November is an Alternative Rock band from the Charleston, West Virginia area. They have two releases under their belt, one of which is "Withered America", featuring some tracks on Sound Click.Band/artist history
It all started in the summer of 2002. when Donnie Smith and Nick Steelhammer became friends during Summer School. Nick let Donnie hear some of his music he wrote. Donnie instantly got a vibe from Nick and knew that he could write some really good lyrics to what Nick was playing. Donnie asked Nick if he wanted to get a band started up, and Nick said sure it would be cool. Nick also told Donnie he had a friend that played lead he just had to met so Donnie said sweet. Nick ask about a bass palyer and a drummer. Donnie told Nick he could get a drummer easy his cousin Dustin Smith played drums, but give him time on the bass player cause he had one in mind but need to see if it would work. Later on Donnie found Dustin could not be in the band because his mom would not let him so Donnie was in search of a new drummer. Donnie called a friend he had spoken to since the last band he was in kicked him out. Ben the funk slap bass God! He aske Ben if he would be interested in joining another band, and amazingly Ben said yes. So Donnie called Nick and told him to call Ben to see what he thought of him as a bass player for the band. Nick about wet his pants when Ben played so Ben was instantly in the band. We all got together at me house and wrote some new material this is were Ben and Donnie first met John. We all hit it off as friends fast and so the band began. We decided to name the band Plastic Pyramid. Donnie spent the night at Ben,s house one night, they went to Daniletta's birthday party. This is where Donnie met James. Some people told Donnie that James could scream and sing. So Donnie invited him to sit in on a practice. After that they all decide to let him join the Plastic Pyramid family. So later on we decide to change the name because Plastic Pyramid sounded too much like a punk band name, and they were anything but that so they decide on a name that would be unique and stick. So they decide on Red November. But what about a drummer? Right! Well he kind of showed up on their door step literally. After they heard Chris Stover play they knew he was in the band. After a few mothes the band decided that the direction the band was going was not hte diection James was going musically. So they had to part ways. This was really hard to do because James was and hopefully still is one of the best friends that the members of the band ever had. A month after James Red November had auditions for a new back up vocalist were they met Rachael Austin after hearing her sing they ke it was the type of harmony they were looking for. So Rachael was in, but is still in training at the moment I will keep you updated. After a short two months it was decided that Rachel would leave the band for curtain reasons. Red November then decided to only have one singer. This story is not over though they are still writing it today, and all they can do is live it.Contact
