More than 400 shows throughout Brazil. Music featured on motion-picture, documentary and TV soundtracks. Formed in January of 2002, the instrumental rock band released their self-entitled debut album in December of 2004 through the Monstro Discos label.Band/artist history
Bravo Magazine (a cultural magazine with nationwide approval) states in its July 2005 edition: “(. . .) Deliverance has come for Brazilian instrumental music. In August of that same year the band made a special appearance on Rede Globo/CNN’s Programa do Jô. In April of 2007 Pata de Elefante was cited by Revista Aplauso (the most important cultural magazine of Southern Brazil) as the instrumental group with great chances of achieving national recognition.
The group is preparing the release of its up coming second album. Shows have already been booked in six Brazilian states (São Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro, Bahia and Ceará) in the months of January and February of 2008 through INSTRUMENTAL/RS a project approved by the Ministry of Culture and by Petrobrás’ 2006-2007 Cultural Program.
Whoever goes to a Pata de Elefante show knows the meaning of Revista Trip reporter Bruno Torturra Nogueira’s words: “It’s f**king great music, punchy, tight and elegant.”
Pata de Elefante’s line-up is Daniel Mossmann (guitar/bass), Gabriel Guedes (guitar/bass) and Gustavo Telles (drums).

Music already made known through the Internet is presented in the shows such as “Soltaram”, “Pata de Elefante”, “Gato que Late” (all three video clips are on YouTube) and “Não Fique Triste” (MySpace). A curious aspect: two of the members alternate between guitar and bass conferring two distinctive sounds that sweep the audience off their feet.
Your musical influences
Influenced by the sound of the 60s and 70s (Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Who, The Band, Eric Clapton, The Ventures) and by film score composers such as Henri Mancini and Ennio Morricone, Pata de Elefante’s instrumental rock caught critics’ attention and captivated an audience used to listening to songs. It is worth mentioning that all three members are composers.
