Swivek began as an offshoot of electronic afficiandos Orange Television in Idaho, where singer/songwriter Bradley Jacobson worked with OTV's Patrick English. The first two Swivek works combined the electronic knowledge of Patrick with Brad's pop ideas which were then further explored when Brad moved to LA in 2002 releasing the poppy "Mexican Gods" and the modern rock CD, "Bruised" in April 2003. The song "Spastic Valentino" from Bruised was used for a Kid Antrim radio DJ demo.
2004's "Happiness Is Hard" moved forward in direction with moody tunes of love and betrayal including an alt pop confection of lost love called "Debbie Doesn't" - a musical ode to the Queen of the Underground Debbie Harry, and a poppin' electro take on "Where The Boys Are."
Followed in November 2004 by the album "ARMY FATIGUE" coming armed in sarcasm and bitterness as a take on the world's current affairs, using the government, hillbilly mindless bigots and the like as a stomping ground, we created 12 songs meant to make you take notice - including a call to rights set to a jittery pop back beat called "Get Up On It", the lucid yet poignant "Everything's Fine" and a rocking little poem of self discovery - "What Do You Think About That"
2006 saw the release of "darkness + light" a whole new shift of energetic rock combined with some electonic blasts from Orange Television.
2007's INTO THE BLUE showcases a more subdued Swivek reflecting on life's fun and sometimes frail cruelty, including the rollicking summer single "Flirt", "Happy Happy Happy", and electronix take on the goddess Pat Benatar's "Treat Me Right", the acoustic driven "Shadows" and the pop confections of "Not A Love Song"
