Philip King Harris
Philip King Harris plays acoustic-based ska, reggae, folk, punk and blues music, influenced mainly by Tim Armstrong and Bob Dylan.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Originally part of a country band, now focusing on solo project. Original and cover songs played all for fun. Recordings all done on an old digital 8-track. Not much history to be had here.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Exclusively at bbqs!
Your musical influences
Tim Armstrong (immense influence), Bob Dylan (early-era likewise), Itch from the King Blues, Johnny OneLung (top bloke, really genuine guy, great musician), Rancid, Leftover Crack and Stza (although too much anti-homophobia led to them falling out with decent people for no reason), Zakk Wylde (one of the best ever), Dimebag Darrell (while although not a musical influence as such on this project - a great influence on my life prior to and after his death), Lilly Allen (for no reason at all), Bradley and Sublime.
What equipment do you use?
Exclusively Ibanez acoustic guitars, Vintage bass guitars, Dean electric guitars.
Anything else?
Check www.myspace.com/blutfaust to see my metal band. I do not run our myspace, but have a look all the same.
Hail to Odin, for giving me the gift of music and poetry (although not a very strong gift in my case!)
Play fucking Skynyrd, have a good time enjoying music.
