Rock En Espanol

Welcome to The Capitalists page here at soundclick. We hope you enjoy your time and listing to our songs and taking a moment to read about us. To start off we are a Portuguese band out of the area of New Bedford, MA. (USA). The group has been together for about 32 years now since March of 1975. Even though we play for music for all occasions. We primarly focus playing for the Portuguese Community all over the New England area.
Band/artist history
The Band got started with John Cunha (lead guitarist) and Hermano Costa (keyboard) in 1975. And included the rest of the members like Gus Mandeville, John Silveria and Jose Carlos Cabral. The group made a single that same year and gig around for dances, Brazilian Carnivals and outside feasts for the portuguese community. Couple years later Hermano left the band and George Macedo came in 1978. The rest of the members joined afterwards Norby Oliviera (1980), Dino Garcia (1981) and Mario Alemeida (1991). And since then the group has been together even today as we speak.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes, only 10 gigs a year for dances, weddings and outside feasts.
Your musical influences
Many to list. Alot of portuguese and brazilian musicans. And some other professional artists as well.
What equipment do you use?
A lot. Will be updating this a bit later.
Anything else?
Special thanks goes out to Henda Records, Robert Leonardo at Digital Wave Recording Studios, Russ Martin, Steve Pacheco. Shawn Delgado and Gilberto Silva for the involvement in the construction of John Cunha Studio.
