Joel is a highly talented self taught singer and guitarist. He has developed his own unique guitar style and has a natural singing voice. To add to all this he composes all his own tunes which he writes from his own personal experiences. This is Joel's first C.D. called 'The Urgency Of Calm' containing 12 tunes and we are sure this will not be his last. Joel is 25 and single.
Band/artist history
Although music has always been in my life, I didn't start playing guitar until 1996. That year was the first time I heard Nirvana's Never Mind Album and I remember learning the bass notes on my first guitar, a student valencia classical. Shortly after hearing Nirvana I was introduced to the Smashing Pumpkins and was blown away. A friend of mine bought the tad book for Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, so I experienced chords for the first time. Learning chords soon turned into writing music and writing poetry turned into writing lyrics. By 1998 I had written my first song 'All For Nought' and I didn't stop. It took up all my time for a year. Tired of playing alone, I started a band with my friends, Todd & Leigh Hawkins, James Bloxem and Anna & Enid Tipping. We started playing at the Wednesday night jam session at the Collingwood Hotel in Liverpool. We went under many names, Coital Salt Bush, Mr Weird, The Bats and Jasper. People go their seperate ways in the end, but I still play when I get the chance in cafes and pubs. Thanks for the listen! Joel Taylor.
