The Way I See It The Way I See It
Sentimental, but never saccharin, I strive to make music that connects with people on a personal level. And the key ingredient to doing this, I believe, is simply being honest. Far too often we build walls between us when we should be building bridges. We shut ourselves off emotionally for 'protection'. But in the end, all this does is act as a destructive force. Someone once said, "What you can't talk about controls your life." I have found this statement to be true in my life, and I have a feeling that many of you can relate to it as well. What we need in this world is transparency. And I'm just doing my part in making sure this happens.

The first song I ever wrote was in 10th grade. I was at a church youth camp and the students were given an opportunity to put on a talent show. Myself, along with a few friends, decided to write a song. The trouble was, we only had about three hours to put one together.
I began to furiously write on a small notepad, and I surprised myself with the results: it was my first song, and it wasn't too bad, either. My friend Bobby helped put together the guitar music and then instructed another guitarist on how to play it.
Before we knew it, we were in front of 300 students having the time of our life. On that day I wasn't sure how far my musical pursuits would go, but I was sure that, at the very least, I would write the ocassional song.
A couple years went by and Bobby and I collaborated again. The end product was a song called "Leave Me Here"---a song that is still one of my personal favorites, even after four years. We ended up playing the song at another talent show, and then at a coffee shop during the main act's intermission. The whole experience was exhilirating to me, but unfortunately, my college years didn't see any musical fruit.
In the moment, I was disappointed that I couldn't find the time for music. But now that I look back, those years I matured a great deal, and as a result, my music is now much stronger. I'm back to writing and collaborating with very talented individuals who might love music even more than I do. And so, I hope you enjoy my contributions.
The song currently available is called "The Way I See It," and it's the first song I've ever written for piano. John Furr, one of my best friends, wrote the piano music and sings background vocals. In due time I will have more music available, so be patient and don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.
