Hi there, my name is Cassandra. I am a singer/songwriter and I play guitar. My music is a mix of folk with some country thrown in every once in awhile.
I find that more often than not my songs are like my poetry, just with melody behind it. I find my inspiration from life experiences, the things I see, feel, hear, taste, touch, and from others around me.Band/artist history
I started singing around age 4. I've been playing guitar for about 14years. I have performed at various venues around Edmonton such as RattleSnake Saloon, Cook County Saloon, The SideTrack Cafe, Meyer Horowitz Theatre, Northlands Park, and many more. I've done many competitions and was involved in choir for about 8 years. In High School I was part of the 13 member Ensemble class. I always loved music and singing but I didn't realize until Junior High that I actually had a gift for it. With the support and guidance of friends, family, teachers, and my inspirational role models I have become very in touch with my capabilities and who I am as a musician.
Currently I am working on an independent album project just for fun.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes, locally. I love performing it's when I'm happiest. I think my favorite special moment was making it into the finals of the CMT/CISN Radio original material competition when I was just a teenager.
Your musical influences
I have a deep respect for artists who write their own material. I have musical influences from many decades. From the 50's and 60's up to the present. When I am creating a song people like Aimee Mann, Damien Rice, Jann Arden, Kieran Ann, Amos Lee, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and many others are influential to me.What equipment do you use?
Definitely nothing fancy, my voice, my acoustic fender, my computer microphone and Kristal Audio Engine. I experimented with Band In A Box for a while.(A few of my songs with background music were made with that) One day I would like to have a real recording studio of my own.Contact
