Band/artist history
The style played by the band is an alternative rock with metal veining, reflecting all the musical influences of all the five elements, varying from metal to pop. Iridyum search through the music a tangible shape of everything they feel inside.
Its first live event was the local selection for Arezzo Wave 2004.
On May it was the band of the month of Talent Scout, an initiative by RockNet.it and Sulpalco.com.
With the first stable lineup the Iridyum recorded their first promotional demo, SlamD, containing two unpublished songs “Speedy Run” and “Wake Up”. This demo received a lot of excellent reviews in many Italian webzines.
“Wake up” was inserted in three compilations in 2004: "Uscita d'emergenza" promoted by www.sottoterra.it, “No name vol.1” produced by Milosci Records, and in the Golisano Rock 2004 Compilation.
The band was invited at Radio Flash Studios in Catania, at “Mandati in Onda” on Radio In, at Radio Time in Palermo, and at “Provini” on Radio In Blu, where the new EP album NO COVER UP, recorded at the beginning of 2005 and excellently reviewed by vaious national and internation webzines, was pubblicied.
It was present at local finals of the event named "PRIMOMAGGIO TUTTO L’ANNO 2006".
On April 2006 the Iridyum, and other bands, opened the concert of the Meganoidi.
It was present at the on-line selection for the CornettoAlgida free music, in collaboration with the Carosello/La Serra and on Nokiaformusic.
Furthermore it opened the concert of Solieri, Portera, Schiamone and other famous guitarists during the “Notte delle chitarre” (Night of the guitars) for the show named “Rock contro la mafia” (Rock against the mafia). Recently, in occasion of “Città per la vita” (“City for the life”) (manifestation against the capital punishment) we have opened the concert to the Tinturia in Catania. We have partecipated to the selections of “Arezzo Wave 2007”. We have won “A caccia di stelle” (“Star hunting”), competition promoted by RDS (Radio Dimensione Suono, an italian national radio) and Mercedes-Benz.Contact
