Born from a growing dissolutionment at the stagnancy, lack of conviction and lack of originality around them, Erowid sought to create a new musical extremity never heard before within the Scottish scene. Created after the demise of the members fomer band, Blackened metal band Ex Infernis, they set out to bring together the most extreme aspects of the underground scene today into one unique blackened sound. With a passion for all extreme music and by incorporating this broader spectrum (especially the electronic/industrial genres but also classical music and many others) into their metal roots, Erowid gained a new musical freedom allowing them to create a darker and more extreme sound with aspects not normally found within the black metal scene. Inspired by their own personal misanthropic views and a growing hatred of religion, humanities attitudes and its disregard for the planet, Erowid were now set to unleash a new hell upon the world.
With their demo "Pro Aeturnum" recorded and being released in the immediate future, they continue to experiment and write music with a view to having another e.p ready for release soon. A live assault is also being prepared and will be unleashed on humanity in the near future. Gaining recognition and support from fans across the globe Erowid will continue to go from strength to strength bringing forth unique blackened metal with originality and conviction.
