Conceptual Elements is the bastard child of NewMuse Productions; a Long Island based grass roots collective representing independent artists of spoken word, poetry, graphic art, acoustic funk and hiphop. Made up of multiple lyricists; Alex Argot, clarity, Sargon, Slow Cash, Rubain and KJW, members of Conceptual Elements have been performing on an individual basis for several years, each developing their own unique sound and carving their niche into the Long Island poetry and hiphop scenes. They soon pooled all of their creative energies and in 2005 began production on the Conceptual Elements project.
Conceptual Elements is an intelligent return to old school hiphop with a contemporary angst. Blending late 80s in-your-face lyricism, abstract poetics, and unorthodox wordplay with beats ranging from jazzy and soulful to gritty and hard-hitting the Conceptual Element sound is lyrically conscious and musically dynamic.
In an era where most music is overproduced and lacking reality the Conceptual Elements crew works hard to display that you dont have to sound like everyone else to connect to a crowd. With honesty and raw emotion flooding everything they do, Conceptual Elements is redefining hiphop from the inside out.
