Have you performed in front of an audience?
I have played live in the UK and Internationally. Performing to people is what it's all about really. You can be as creative as you like but it's peoples response you want. I love to see an audience enjoying my performance. It's a great buzz especially the ovations etc. It means a great deal and makes it all worth while. A singer or entertainer needs an audience or what's the point.
Your musical influences
I was brought up listening to all the great singers. My family played Jazz and Big Band music all the time. I was heavilly influenced by Tony Bennett because My mother adored him, also Sinatra, Bassey, Ella, Sarah Vaughan and Billie Holliday were played hell of alot. All the great singers of the past influenced my voice combined with a contemporary edge. I love the high range modulations of singers, I tried to develop that into my voice, I just didn't want to be a crooner. Anyone who could sing in that way had my families approval. My mother also played Elvis so I'm very familiar with his works too. As I grew up I started to listen to pop music and because I appreciated great singers I became a huge Whitney Houston Fan. To me she's the greatest of my generation but music wise it's Jazz all the way. There is no music that matches up. The melodic structures and live horns give it that velvet feel, put it together with a great voice and you've got magic.
