Nice tunes. I totally dig Stargazer. You have a sound that I could strive for if I did not already have my own sound to build upon. I like the use of piano and strings in your songs. You seem very eclectic and also very knowledgeable. What could you suggest to an aspiring musician and what could you tell me I might want to improve on with my own tunes? I use FL studio as it is affordable and I have been using it since I started creating electronica a few years ago and I now know the program by heart. I will not switch to any other programs as this is the only one I can achieve my unique sound with. If you can provide any constructive feedback that would be great. Keep up the good work.

thanks for stopping by... I understand your point, but a response if I may? 1) Aurora is old, I have addressed this to some extent in my more recent stuff... 2) I am aiming for a club sound. Thanks for your advice tho!

Love the symphonic suite for green bear saga, sounds really nice, I like the march feel and the piano in the middle, not sure about the orchestra hits though, they sound too 80ish, but then again it goes well with the mood. I got some stuff you might like, check out my site and let me know what you think, I have a lot of different genres so look through for the style you like. Hope to hear from you soon, once again great work and Happy Holidays!

dj flux posted on Sat August 7, 2004 Thanks for the comments. I hope I can do something with this crossgenre. Your post was a real morale booster. However, you addressed me in plural form. It's just me, heh. And actually, I've studied no classical music... I only listen to film music ocassionally. I don't listen to country, ever, but this is quite melodic material you have here. Good luck. ************************************************ Hey Cap'n. We dint give the comments! Yall earned'em!! An yall's from Tejas! Yall knows what "yall" means!! Haw!! Gater Boyz love Tejas!! Hey DJ!!Yall got a great crossover goin here! Tunes for peoples who dig real music AND fer folks what likes to dance! Whatta rockin' concept!!! "Sonicesque"'s got a teeny Wolfgang prelude prior to the fugue... which kicks butt!!! "Stargazer" hints a bit a Debussy with it's big fat chords... just fulla harmonies! Rockin!! Yall's study of Berlioz & Beethoven sho nuff paid off. "Revelation" is a hot piece. Yall's fingers got arpegioed to death!! Souns great with that "spiritual" thang in the middle & the end. Finality. Like Revelation! Cool music, DJ!!

Thanx for the comments - we're planning on doing Pirates next year, only this time doing it right - I got the whole score memorized now, listened to the CD over and over. Plan on adding keyboard for strings (cause our orchestra sucks - they're never in tune!) other drum parts that are synthesized (when they enter the cave) and the love synth sound that's on the second beat of one measure (in "One Last Shot"). So, until then - next year will definitely be better - if not, I'll record all the parts myself! Your right in the "He's a Pirate" part - everyone just has to feel it in 12/8 time! Great job on your music, I really enjoy it!

Hey DJ Flux. I don't make a habbit of checking my message board and didnt realise tuntil today that you had posted a message :P. I'm listening to some of your stuff, I am rather pleased I must say. Though, it is slightly flat in terms of effects (in my opinion anyway). I generally make very good use of effects such as choruses and many delays and of course reverb. These effects jsut add a bit more... smoothness to the songs. Dunno if it fits your style of music as I'm not used to listening to your style of electronica but they are jsut suggestions. Also, I wouldn't mind mixing some of your music if you wouldnt mind. You'd be given full credit and I can probably spare some room to post a link to your soundclick page if you would allow me to mix a few of your songs. BTW, I just released a new mix last night. The BT link is on my soundclick page. I'm slightly dissapointed in it but the peopel who have downloaded it have so far liked it. Cheers IDarkISwordI

Hi Flux! I am checking your latest. Nice piano progression and like the strings. I am not hearing any hi-hats or open hats. Those are crucial for this genre. I only hear shakers, bass drum and crashes. The melody is great in this track but you are selling your self-short with your sample choice. I hear virtually no reverb or ping-pong delay. If you are using Cubase to master I would run a number of VST effects on each instrument. But honestly, I have never been fond of Cubase or even Fruity Loops for composing. It sounds to me like you are ready to move to another application though. I recommend using Reason (my baby :D), Project5 (Cakewalk) or if you can get your hands on those us the freeware, Buzz. That being said, you have a strong foundation and you understand what it takes musically to make a great track but these applications are holding your sound quality back. Someone told me this before I switched to Reason. "You are only as good as your samples sound." Well, honestly if you
