Simple and plain.....everybody say its alright!!!

Hip Hop General

This is MEighty....and one of the youngest and realist HIP Hop rappers to date. I'm only 18 currently....and the things I rap about....are not even touched by artists my age. While they're stuck on this LEAN AND ROCK, TRAP, MURDA DIS n SHOOT DAT music....I am bringing back the BASICS of how REAL MUSIK suppose to be. I am a big HIP Hopper.....I love the HIP HOP feeling of expressing yourself....positively....and lyrically! These are the examples of music that I don't like.....SOULJA BOY.....Cam'ron - Every Song He Every Came out with....he raps like a 3rd grader....and also JIM JONES.....NOT Ballin! Basically nonsense music......but for the examples of what I do Like.....Talib Kweli....Little Brother....Kanye...Pharrell....Mos Def...Common...and so many other MC's. So if you like HIP HOP (and I do quote REAL HIP HOP), then you'll like ME!
Band/artist history
It all started in the early days of 2006, when a young man named Mike aka M80 listened to all the music that was on the radio and mix-tapes and he figured out that it was all a bunch of trash and garbage. So he picked up the pen and put it to the pad. His brother BI$HOP and other brother Solo are big influences to his upcoming career. Saginaw, MI is a little town with alot of violence therefore spawned a lot of quote unquote local GANSTA Rappers releasing their played out SHOOT EM Up rhymes talking bout "killing dis person or fuckin this girl". And Eighty was fed up especially with all the garbage trash music in the industry right now. Although he despise Trap Music, Lean Wit It, and Walkin It Out musik, he says if it is made for the club, let that shit stay in the club. Most people say he raps like a combination of Kanye West with a little more ghetto and down-to-earth approach. He's only 17 years old trying to be the first young teen to bring HIP HOP back with a new school way, mixed w/ the struggle of the HIP HOP movement Vs The Trash Musik movement. M80's style is sort of weird for his age because the usual people at this age rap about money, cars, clothes, violence, and girls but 80 raps about whats going on all around him and the problems he's faced in the past. The Saginaw area has a sort of RIP OFF style that is similar to Atlanta's CRUNK/Lean and Rock style/Trap Muzik therefore seperating 80's style from theirs. He is unsigned but is hoping for a chance with a label that has been grounded and founded with HIP HOP roots, but he's also apart of the upcoming group "ACT AN ASS" and his HOPE TO BE future record label D.R.E.E.M Ent. (Deep, Radiant, Everlasting, Entertaining, Music)/Act An Ass Records. He is currently working on his first single album "In The Mind Of A Crazy Soul" which is expected to be released by the end of 2006/ early 2007. He also hopes that if he makes it big in the industry that he could make some collabo songs with his favorite rappers like 50 Cent, Kanye West, Little Brother, Ludacris, Lupe Fiasco, Nas, Jay Z, Pharrell, Justus League, Mos Def, Common, and all the other HOT HIP HOP stars. He has a favorite saying/quote that he currently acquired, "Hip Hop isn't DEAD, because it's just been RESURRECTED"!!! Or "If It Ain't About HIP HOP, then it Ain't ABOUT SHIT"!!!
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Sadly....I haven't been able to perform LIVE just yet....but hopefully soon I WILL!

What equipment do you use?
I like to call the equipment that I use to record....."The Handicap Studio/Bootlegged/ Dirty Dungeon" b cuz all I use is a regular COMPUTER mic.....wit a sock over it....and I record using the ACID PRO 4, 5, and 6. It makes every thing sound nice..and it might be a little ghetto but...it still sounds clear.....it still sounds QUALITY.....and it still is HIP HOP!!! And thats all that matters!!!!
Anything else?
2ndary Bio Perspective....Pt.2 Well, it all started back last year sometime ago (Summer of 2006), I was listening to some of my brothers music....and I noticed that everything they said was so RAW and UNCUT and I loved it. So they told me I should try it too...but at that time....I didn't realize my true potentials as I do now....So one day, when I was listening to my cousin's CDs, I saw that he had nothing but HIP HOP legends in his case.....ya know Mos Def....Talib...Little Brother....Common....Jean Grae....LL Cool J....just to name a few.....and I compared it to this music on the radio now-a-days! And what they all said was REAL SHIT...that music that has purpose and meaning.....and I fell in LOVE with HIP HOP! The sounds on radio...for example....Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It....was a tight club/dancing song...but when it comes to real music...it's TRASH. I have no problem wit it...but when it comes to putting this music in the same category as HIP HOP....NO WAY in HELL are they the same GENRE. So from that point on, I knew that was the sound I wanted....expressing yourself on song....with real words and real emotions.
