Houston complex Houston complex
A song about what it's like to feel a little left out.
We are a Progressive Rock band from Minneapolis, Minnesota. We focus on being as musical and performance driven as is humanly possible. We pride ourselves on having very diverse musical influences.Band/artist history
We started as [space bar] and launched our carriers playing our first show in First Avenue's Main room. Ever since we've been winning audiences over and putting together our EP. Due to the nature of our music and the amount of money that is involved in putting together our dreams, the EP is taking longer then it probably should.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes, we play live in Minnesota and Wisconsin and we absolutely adore it. At the moment one of our fondest moments was when Charles, the lead singer, disappeared in the middle of a song only to come out moments later with a Gibson guitar hero guitar (guitar hero is a video game for the PlayStation 2) and hit the next verse without missing a beat.
Your musical influences
Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Rush, Genesis, Radiohead, David Bowie, David Byrne, The Fixx, the synth revolution, and Coke. (no, they didn't pay us for that, we plugged them for the search engines.)What equipment do you use?
From a strictly live perspective we have 2 guitarists, Daniel Auger and Jonathan Ford who each have guitar amps that they have uniquely under immense control with various pedals and do-hickeys. We have a bassist, Andy McClure who sends out a wave of lo fi mead. We have a full drum kit that our drummer Mark Haider, pokes his head over every now and again (that's one kick drum though), then we have a computer that outputs 2 quarter inch cables that transmit a split stereo signal, we have our own D.I.'s, it's just easier that way. Then we have a mic preamp, and an efx box, that Charles, our lead singer, desperately fights to keep well in feedback control through the use of his fabulous in ear monitor.
Other then that we like to keep things a mystery. Otherwise where's the magic in music If we tell you all our secrets?Anything else?
If you're a venue, we tip our bartenders even if we have a drink ticket. Ka-ching.
