Native Austinite, Felicia Craig, gave her life to Christ at the age of eight. Her desire to empower youth and her community began at a young age. During a Sunday school class, led by her father, she was challenged to impact her community. As a result, she participated in her first community outreach at the age of 11.
Once in high school, Felicia followed her family to a church her dad was called to pastor. At the church, she took on a leadership role in the youth department. During this time, under the influence of her mother, she also began volunteering in her local community.
In the spring of 1988, she received the Southern Baptist Speakers Tournament scholarship and attended Houston Baptist University in Houston, Texas. She received her BA in Speech and Mass Media. Later, she went on to complete her Masters in Communication at Regent University with an emphasis in filmmaking.
Past experience with youth development has been with Boys and Girls Clubs of America, All the Way Live!, Upward Bound, and the Crisis Pregnancy Center. She continues work with youth ministry at Great Commission Baptist Church, a church her father planted in Austin, Texas several years ago.
She understands to whom much is given much is required and is committed to give all she can to empower the youth of this generation to fulfill their God given destiny!
Workshop Topics Include:
Who are You? A seminar that challenges youth to use their teen years to discover both their strength and weaknesses. Youth are encouraged to participate in career exploration and post secondary education.
Chosen! (Teen Myths3 ) -- There are three myths that often cause teens to make poor choices. These myths deal with 3 main areas: Pride, Sex, and Drugs. A review of the myths and the truths behind them are discussed.
