Druha smena (The Other Shift) was founded by Milan Vymazal (vocals, keyboards), Zdenek Poklemba (guitars) and Juraj Suchon (drums) in 2001. Jaroslav Novotny (bass) joined a year later.
The bands philosophy is based on an argument about who is better: Beatles and Stones (Mr Vymazal asserts so) or Clapton and B.B. King (Mr Poklemba asserts so). The drummer Jirka Suchon usually agrees with everything and the bassist Jarda Novotny with nothing, just to be sure. This is the way how the necessary creative tension is generated. Its results can be heard at various rock (revival) festivals, motorbike meetings, school balls, etc.
We must also mention our American friends living in Olomouc, Czech Republic who write the lyrics for us. Thanks a lot, Mick and Michael, for the ongoing excellent collaboration.Your musical influences
The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, B.B.King, Chuck Berry, The Who, The Doors and many other great names of the 60s.

Thanks for the kind words and your visit to my Silvertown site. I live near Zwolle, Netherlands which is in central Holland. The Dutch language is also not the greatest for lyrics but they do it anyway and of course people appreciate it. I will be posting two new songs possibly tonight if I find time to record so drop back my board this week. You guys are such good musicians I'm sure you will attract attention wherever you play.
PS: Please visit this site for a duo I had with a female singer for Christian music - these are the best sounding PC recordings I ever made. I use a software called SEKD which I really love and a very small Behringer mixer.
