Informix is a recent development founded by Dj Sylence. Born and raised in Anchorage Alaska, Sylence has been an avid listener of electronic music since his days in grade school. Influenced by the likes of praga kahn and The Orb in the beginning of his electronic excursion, has moved up into later highschool with a fascination for drum'n'bass. Since those days of early youth Sylence (Paul Carlton) always dreamed about producing the music. He was hit with a large realization that electronic music production was rather expensive. He took to the guitar and drums. Finally in late highschool he picked up his turntables and started mixing.
Paul under the name of Sylence has played out at multiple parties and venues in Anchorage Alaska being one of the earliest to make big appearences for drum'n'bass music. After of which came SouledOutDj's and Eric bringing up major names from the UK. Unfortunately Sylence then moved to San Diego just missing the big names. Fortunately he was able to see High Contrast and Friction before abording the Alcan (Alaska Canada Highway) and made his trek down to the lower 48.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes.
