Akwadaa Nyame Jamasi Born, Bronx Raised
Born Kwame Aduse Poku on Jan 18th, Akwadaa Nyame can be described as the MC that hiplife fans have been yearning for. To him rap is not hard but very demanding. This is because as a 4th year political science student expecting graduation in December 2006, it has not been easy combining school and music. As hard as it is combining the two, the young man has done it, continues to do it and even plans on getting his masters degree after bagging the bachelors. The emcee says School have influenced me a lot, my eyes is open, my ears is open, it has made me a good reporter and you can see that in my music. I always want to touch on current happenings and also remind my listeners of the past. Trials and tribulations of everyday life, thats my music Blessed with a story telling ability that even rap osofo will be jealous off, combined with skills to switch up flows, Akwadaa Nyame the God Child is set to explode. Very cool and calm, doesnt brag about his own prominence, he has given and shown the true meaning of adepa na eton ne ho. The world may not know the name Akwadaa Nyame yet but New York City definitely got the name on lock. He is been hailed as the MC that is going to put hiplife on the radio of every radio station across the globe. Akwadaa Nyame the GodChild aka Mi ye Fresh in the Flesh aka Uptown Hiplife King aka Gold Coast Gentleman (GCG) started rhyming in late 98. Introduced to Hiplife by friend Big Zee, Akwadaa began practicing thru writing, freestyling and skipping school to lay tracks at E dawgz studios. As a member of Vicious Black Squad, akwadaa was known for his west coast styled English flow; little did they know that he was behind the scenes polishing his Twi flows. Lo and behold, out came a rapper with punch lines known as the M16s and vivid story telling verses known as the nuclear 16s, its amazing to watch and listen to this dude spit. Leading the pac of future hiplife emcees based abroad, Akwadaa Nyame and his cronies released uptown hiplife mixtape vol 1. Street Hustle and door-to-door sale, though not as profitable as he would have wanted it to be, his name have spread beyond the NYC borders reaching the 50 states, Canada, Africa and parts of Europe, and Asia. With his popularity and worth growing by the day, the once unknown emcee has become the most wanted for shows and featurings. The lil dude with huge stage presence, witnesses at Annual NY Ghana Picnic 05 and 06 will attest to that, has many collabos under his belt including Akwaaba Welcome 2 Ghana with Wanlov. Peer and also a mentor to many upcoming MCs such as Anuanom, Ahenfie Nkwadaa, General Akoto aka Wezi, Dr. Mo, Oseikrom, GCG, Chartz and other future maestros, Akwadaa Nyame is undoubtedly the future of hiplife everywhere.
