Been around the amateur music scene for 30+ years as both a solo/duo guitarist gigging in pubs, bars, restaurants, as a stage musical director and as a member of various cover bands. Singer/songwriter with back catalogue of 40-50 (mostly unpublished!) songs. Solid writing partnership with my old pal Tony who sadly died in the summer of 2007.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yep. Currently with a 60/70/80's cover band (www.wheelz.org) as keyboard player doing mainly local gigs. Am attempting to learn how to use *both* hands on the keyboard (I'm a guitarist - dammit!)...
Your musical influences
Pretty varied but highlight artists are Paul Simon, James Taylor, Mike Oldfield, Jackson Browne. I'm also interested in making music for TV/Films etc.
What equipment do you use?
Behringer Eurorack Mixed, Fusion 6HD workstation, JV-1010 MIDI sound module, Sonar DAW, Yamaha FX-500 effects unit, Joe Meek VC3Q EQ/compressor and JT condenser mic, 2 x Behringer C2 mics, 2 x Behringer MIC100 preamps, Roland SPD6 percussion unit, Roland D5 keyboard, Alesis Fusion 6HD keyboard, Behringer V-Amp gtr/amp simulator, Behringer Bass Distortion pedal, Behringer Ultrafex dual enhancer/exciter, M-Audio MIDI 4x4, M-Audiophile 2496 and Event Darla audio cards in a Dell P4 with 1GB RAM
Anything else?
'Proper' instruments I have are Taylor 210e and Ovation Balladeer 1600 series electroacoustic guitars, Fender Precision bass guitar (copy) and a Fender Squier Strat electric guitar

I saw Colin perform a few songs at The Running Well Club open mic in Wickford, Essex last night. The tone of his voice can only be described as mellow and, when I closed my eyes, it took me to another place entirely. I could sit and listen to an evening of Colin Davies only. I cannot describe how truly lovely his voice actually is. A thoroughly nice and humble man.
