Dr. Fishy is a 5 piece band from Terrace BC created by James Powell and Greg Linton. They have become NW BC festival standards. A combination of folk, rock, jazz and blue grass, their music genre can best be described as "Spruce Roots". All original music, the local themes flow through the music like the Skeena River through NW BC. The band has been featured on CBC radio across the province and across the country. James Powell, one of the principal singer/songwriters provides his quirky lyrics and self taught talents on most any stringed instrument including banjo, guitar and mandolin. Greg Linton, the other singer/songwriter of the band adds vocals, guitar and trumpet to the signature Dr. Fishy sound. Daryl McDicken has been providing drums and percussion to the band since its inception. His training at McGill has brought many interesting rhythms to the music. Mitch Adams, a local fixture on the Terrace music scene, has given the band a great bass anchor. Mark Fleming, who studied music at Capilano College and Malaspina University-College, has the chops on lead guitar to sink his teeth into all the Dr. Fishy tunes and make them shine. Look for Dr. Fishy coming to a festival near you and don't be surprised if you find yourself a "Fish Head" by the end of one of their exciting shows.
