Hardcore Rap

It's just me (Mawb) and my homie Redrum. We got alot of stuff in the works, but this is just what we have recorded so far. Some of this stuff we orinally created in like 1996 - 98. Situations have prevented us from competing all the recording. Now, however, we have the equipment and we are able to perfect everything we have, so look out for some fresh new material from Maelstrom...
Band/artist history
Me and Mike been parntaz since 1792 B.C. We went through a stage when everybody in the hood was rappin and we all had our own thing. We came up with our individual rap names and all that stuff. Mike called hisself Redrum for obvious reasons. I became Mawb for no apparent reason. There were about 5 or 6 other dudes from Redrum's block (34th) that were in it at the time. The group was "Tre-fo Soljahz", but after time went on, people grew apart and moved away. Tre-Fo soljahz kinda stopped marchin. Maelstrom was 3 of us (Me, Redrum and Katastrophe) the best rappers of them all. Frank, Katastrophe, was kinda hard to keep up with, but me and Rum was always kickin it anyway, so we just ended up being us.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We've only performed live on a few occasions. Unfortunately we haven't gotten ourselves alot of exposure.
Your musical influences
Mainly Bone, Three 6 Mafia, and old gangsta rap like Spice 1, NWA, Dogg Pound, E-40 & The Click etc. Plus old 80s music and video game music. For me personally, I get influence from ICP (insane clown posse), The Offspring, old 60s/70s music like The Temptations, Earth Wind & Fire, P Funk, etc.
