I am a sixteen year old christian solo artist who has just been writing music for the past two years, but only over the past year have I begun to take it seriously. Most of my songs are related to christianity but can also be interpreted into different situations. My only goal is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ through music, and what he has done in my life.Band/artist history
The first proper band I was in was a metal band called Wish on Hope with Alex Clayton and Peter Bradbury and of course P.O.A.F.U.M! It lasted about six months, but in that time we had only managed to get one song done, and one party done. We decided that it wasn't working right because the combination of musicians simply didn't fit.
From then, I started a solo project called Her Dark Sobriety and wrote quite a lot of songs and composed music for them, but I found that this wasn't right because it wasn't glorifying to God so I threw out all the songs that weren't pleasing to Him and started a fresh as Rain.
I also played in a christian youth band and we practiced together for about 2 months and then played at a music party, but we didn't carry it on.Have you performed in front of an audience?At the moment, I am just focusing on getting an album together and finishing of composing parts for my songs. The only place I've played at so far is at a church for a christmas service, but I'm hoping to start gigging within the next year or maybe earlier, when I have some musicians together.
Your musical influences
I love all different types of music, but mostly alternative genres. I have been quite a big metal fan for about 5 years now, but recently my music tastes have expanded. Some big influences for me are Within Tempataion, Nightwish, Rasputina, Nirvana, Tuomas Holopainen, Trent Reznor and Howard Shore.What equipment do you use?
