When Jack's first band Critical Anaemia broke up, he went off to write and record his own songs. Inspired by many different bands, the songs range from ballady and sad music to heavy thrashy metal to melodic shred.Band/artist history
Critical Anaemia was formed in 2003 when a group of young, inexperienced musicians decided to form a cover band. Jack (Guitar/Vocals), Jun (Guitar/Vocal), Albert (Bass) and Dan (Drums) started jamming to Metallica's music.
In late 2004, right before their first gig, Dan decided to quit and Paul joined as the new drummer. In their first gig, 6th December 2004, Critical Anaemia played Sum 41 songs "The Hell Song", "Still Waiting" and Metallica's "For Whom the Bell Tolls" to an audience of 15 friends.
In mid 2005, the band played Pantera's "Cemetery Gates" in their school's singing competition. Paul was M.I.A. because he wasn't from the school. The band didn't win anything, but the audience sure loved it and they gained a lot of attention.
In early 2006, Critical Anaemia disbanded as Jack and Jun departed overseas for college. Jack started writing and recording his own music and releasing them under his own name.
On 11th June 2006, Melodic Diversion is decided as a band name, while discussing with close friend Andrew on a possible name for the latest song, which is named Mercurial Defiance. Melodic Diversion was actually the name for the song at first.Have you performed in front of an audience?Nil.
