Band/artist history
Born Robin E. Johnson in Stuttgart, Germany to an African American Father and German Mother in 1975. He lived in Indianapolis, Indiana from 1980-2003. Having been writing rhymes since 1987, he did not realize his calling as a GOD honoring Rapper/Poet until coming to CHRIST in 1997. That same year, then under the stage name "seven", he co-wrote the independantly released single "777 Only For The Righteous". Two years later, still under the stage name "seven", he appeared as one of the four artists on the "Theological Warfare" album, released through Triune G Records (1999). He continued writing and tried his hand in music production until moving to Arizona in 2003. Immediately impressed by the Christian hip hop scene in Phoenix, introduced to him through Urban Artists United (UAU), he began an attempt to make his mark in the Southwestern Christian Rap Music Ministry scene. However, shortly after getting off his feet with several local performances of his 2004 "probonopromo" project, Rob suddenly disappeared from the scene. Feeling family responsibilities required more "realistic" goals, he put down the pen and pad and pursued different career fields. He was wrong. "Who can deny GOD's calling? I just couldn't stop writing. I finally realized that no goal is more realistic or important for my family or myself than my complete submission to the HOLY SPIRIT." Rob has since joined New Beginnings Community Church in Maryvale, where he helps lead the Fireproof Youth Ministry program and, even more recently, has been working towards his return to the Christian Rap/Poetry scene proclaiming..."GOD has given me this gift, the kids love it, CHRIST is proclaimed and lives are changed through it. Hip hop is the racial equalizer of our time. I'd be a fool to deny such a great calling."
