Ordinary Man
A friend once said to me that he could never accept the idea of being just
an ordinary man. He had far too great a plan for himself and prized
himself with skills, talents and strengths that make him everything but
ordinary! I remember replying: "Does not the very fact that if one should
wish to be greater than he is ,mean that he is in fact not ordinary at
all"?
Surely if one has the desire to be great or to achieve greatness, this
means that there is a substance within them, a light, a power...a vision.
Surely these are not the traits of an ordinary man. The ordinary man is
always the hero in the films. If you were incarcerated or dumbfounded by
some terrible circumstance, all you would wish for is to be an ordinary
man, living an ordinary life. Is there such a thing as an ordinary man?
The man you think is an ordinary man might not be ordinary at all! Within
him may lay a hidden secret, a hidden mystery, a hidden talent. We are
all ordinary men it might be argued .Who is the Ordinary Man?
.....and there I had it. After searching high and low, after sleepless
nights, I finally had discovered who I was to be known as. I had finally
found the name which was going to represent my music.....to represent my
band, our sound. My music is dark and powerful, mysterious and beautiful
and so too was the concept ordinary man....and I believe it to be just
that; a concept , so hence ..I go by the artist name Ordinary man.
I was born on the 21st of December 1978. I grew up alongside my brother
Mark and we were parented, still are, by our mother Anna Maria. At a young
age we studied classical piano and were singing in the choir. My brother
Mark is a talented composer but it was I who had the ambition and drive,
the dream to show my compositions to the world.....and finally now, after
27 years of my life.
After years of playing and singing at the piano, performing at various
bars and clubs in London, I began to realise the importance of
establishing a band so that the fullest potential of my music may be
attained. I set upon my search and now have along side me the magician
drummer Francesco ...The Brazilian guitarist Philippi and a permanent bass
player is yet to be established.
Some one else who is also along side me, and has been for some years now
is the talented, genius, hands on technician, producer and songwriter; Mr
Paul Woodlock.
He's so clever in fact, that he thought he'd have a go at designing this
website, just like that, bosh, job done. He can do anything!
Paul Woodlock and I have been co-producing, recording tracks written by
both parties for about 6 years. Paul would have to be considered as the
leading producer and he is the hands on wizard who creates the affects
which make the instruments play the sound they do . We are a team ...you
bear testimony to the result!
Finally.....You will now witness the birth and life of Ordinary Man. Keep
in touch as we will continue to add further songs and gig as much as we
can.
