Good Day Bad Day Good Day Bad Day
A straight forward rock track with an interesting drum track, that's often syncopated!! The opening track to my second CD, 'Maximum Overdrive'.

Show all (15)
I'm a multi-instrumentalist, arranger and composer.
I've worked as a session musician and sound engineer.
I've played in many different bands up and down the country, covering numerous styles.
I now do solo work and currently recording an album, which I'm hoping to take out on the road on a Pubs and Clubs tour at some point.
My gear consists of:
One Red Special replica, based on Brian May's, played through a Vox AC30 with a Boss Pedalboard, consisting of Boss Equaliser, Ibanez Tubescreamer, Marshall Chorus, Boss Acoustic Simulator (live use only), Boss Digital Delay and Boss Compressor/Sustainer.
One 5-string bass, based on my own design and specs, played through an SWR Super Redhead with an SWR Interstellar Overdrive pre-amp.
Both guitars were made by Hugh Manson, of Manson Guitars.
I also use steel and nylon strung acoustics including a 12-string acoustic, an 8-string mandolin, a Yamaha DJX keyboard and a Rogue 8-string bass.
Band/artist history
For this particular music, it's me and only me. I play all the instruments myself, with the exception of drums which I have to program and sequence myself.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes, I play live. I'd like to get out and play live more often as I really love gigging. There's nothing quite like it. As a result, I gig anywhere. I've done gigs in Mary Tavy, Plymouth, Fratton, Haslemere, London, Cardiff to name but a few places. I make frequent appearances at Open Mic Nights too.
Your musical influences
Influences are hard to pin down as I listen to anything and everything under the sun. But if I had to narrow it down, I guess it would be QUEEN, LED ZEPPELIN, JOHN PAUL JONES (solo work), BOB DYLAN and KT TUNSTALL.
What equipment do you use?
My main electric guitar is a Manson Red Special, which I play through a pedal board consisting of a Boss Equaliser, an Ibanez Tubescreamer, a Marshall Chorus, a Boss Acoustic Simulator (live use only), a Boss Digital Delay and a Boss Compressor/Sustainer, which in turn is rigged through a Vox AC30 with Greenback speakers. I also use a Manson 5-string bass, tuned unusually E-A-D-G-C which I play through an SWR Super Redhead with an SWR Interstellar Overdrive pre-amp (which I bought secondhand from solo bassist Steve Lawson) and an SWR Goliath III extention cabinet (4 ohm). I also use a Freshman electro-acoustic guitar, an electro-acoustic 8-string mandolin, a Yamaha DJX Keyboard, which was given to me by a collaborator, a unbranded nylon strung Spanish/Classical guitar, a Rogue 8-string bass (4 courses of 2) and my latest acquistion, a 12-string acoustic which needs an on-board pick-up installed before I take it out gigging.
Anything else?
All the tracks I've submitted are instrumental versions. They do have lyrics but as I can't sing all that well, despite what you see in my pic, I thought that I'd save the embarrassment of my appalling voice!!
