Band/artist history
2004 - Shine Forever and Sardinian Sunset played for the public. 2005 - New songs written, but never finalised 2005 to 2008 - Slowly getting to grips with new software, and learning the ins and outs of compression/EQing/mastering/limiting.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
1 song played in dorset night club, another in a belfast radio station. Not a performer at heart, I play piano violin and guitar, but would have no desire to knock out a bad tune amongst company.
Your musical influences
Moby had perhaps the most influence, and to a lesser extent the outlandish talents of Fat boy slim. The classical sides of Apocalyptica and Within Temptation have lent me ideas for classical/orchestral scores and inserts. some of my music has a dirty darkwave/goth undertone, this much is clear. But i try to attain some degree of compliance with the general charts of trance and Drum and Bass. its all very well being unique, but there is such a thing of being TOO unique. aka. No one wants to listen to that wierd stuff.
What equipment do you use?
Lead tunes are usually derived from playing keyboard before hand. Grade4 Piano. Piano within songs are usually soundfonts, steinway or PianoTrans. Tracks for Bass lines, Violins, and guitars, usually i'll prepare the main riff on a real instrument, then rely upon the clear sounds of a soundfont. Only after will i record myself playing bass guitar/classical guitar/violin to add some realism blended in. As for the main program, I've never used anything other than FL studio. I'm still using version 5. But over the years I've gathered countless advanced VST addons*, and learnt how to use them to their maximum potential. * equipment list VST instruments: Drums - ezdrummer, samples, FLFPC Synths - Sytrus, +3Zeta synth, krakli strings Strings and Melodies - Variety of over 500 soundfonts VST effects: Waves Reverb/FL Reverb2/Delay Banks, mda resources Mastering VST plugins: Limiters - TLs 4032 Pocket Limiter and BetaBugs W1 Limiter Compressors - Nomad Studio Suite, Waves AudioTrack
