Band/artist history
The Late Show (TLS) originally started in 2001, as a three man crew (Mayh3m!, Redhanded & Smash Atoms) with majority of the production done
by producer Destro Devious. While recording a couple songs with Cool Ray Slick & The Mental Illness Crew, Jon Street was hired on as the guitar player for TLS. He also has a couple guest appearances every now and then. Many
late nights and smoked filled sessions in a basement on the southside of Columbus, OH. resulted in The Fan's & Reality LP, the first release from The Late Show. Family and personal business quickly came into play and TLS had to
seperate from producer Destro and began working on other projects. After recording The Makeshift Mixtape Volume 1, long-time friend Lou-Is was added to the line-up. Lou-Is brings sort of a mix between Twista and Jadakiss to the
table with a sick double-time tongue twisting style and raw, in your face punch-lines. Shoty was also added after hearing how good he sounded on a couple tracks on the mixtape. He seemed to fit right in to the dark, raw underground sound that describes The Late Show. A couple shows here, a couple shows there and The Late Show was back in the infamous underground hip-hop scene in Columbus. Reason was added to the roster in early 2005 and TLS began to travel around Ohio doing shows and promoting the different
solo and crew projects. Now, with a handful of shows under their belt in Portsmouth; TLS is glad to call Portsmouth another home away from home. Their sound has always been taken well and appreciation is always felt
after a performance. The newest addition to The Late Show was DJ Crash. After
paying his dues on his own, he teamed up with Mayh3m! & Redhanded to form one of the most sought after production teams in the Midwest. The Newsense (his MC name) will be featured on some upcoming projects from The Late Show!!!
