Leucosia are a female fronted melodic rock band comprising electronic and orchestral elements. By embracing music technology and home recording Leucosia have been able to mould an individual sound, taking influence from bands such as Tool, NIN, A Perfect Circle and Lacuna coil through to Boards of Canada, Amon Tobin, Bjork and Massive Attack.Band/artist history
Leucosia began in 1999 as a solo studio project of Dans. Having been drumming in bands since the tender age of 6 or 7 his attention turned to guitar and the new possibilities of home recording. With influences in rock, classical and electronic based music he began experimenting with style crossovers, refining the sound whilst improving the writing, recording and production aspects.
Once enough songs had been written a band was formed, bringing vocals to the music for the first time. Problems of replicating the electronic and orchestrated side of the music live along with personal differences meant the band fell apart. Dan however continued to write, concentrating on studio rather than live work, and eventually found a suitable vocalist to work with.
Leucosia is now focused on producing an albums worth of tracks to a high standard with the aim of gaining record company interest and building a fan base both locally and on a wider scale via the internet. In the near future attempts will be made to form a live band again, or at least stripped down versions of the songs will be performed at local venues.Have you performed in front of an audience?Leucosia are currently in the process of forming a live band in an attempt to take the studio sound to the live stage.
