O.B.C. (Original Born Cypher)
Band/artist history
O.B.C. was born in the winter of 2000. Formed by Tae Silencer. I Ray(SB3XL) joined around that time with another artist Boondox who is not a member at this time. I did beats and the three of us just clicked from there Boondox moved out of town and me and tae just started to work from there with songs like It's a struggle and the Beast(shut em down) We hooked up with another cat in like 2001-2002 named T-Bars who fit perfect with what we was doing. Together we recorded songs like The Life Part 1, You don't want beef, and 2 many Fony. Unfortuantely T-Bars was invovled in a car accident that left him brain damaged. He can't speak and think like he use too. At the same time this went on Tae found himself into a little trouble and had to go away for awhile. I also was dealing with a few court cases so it seemed the music that we part some much time and heart in was dying. Until April 2005 when I found out one of my ni&&as could rhyme. Since tae was down I started working solo and then decided to bring LOS into the group. Tae came home for a second and we recorded songs together like Jewels, Crook City, and the VA anthem(Let em Know). Tae had to go back so I picked up another member 18 year old Young Slim. We did joints together like So u wanna be down? The Life Part 2, O.B.C. in the house, So it's beef u want, and others. Slim caught a little case and had to go away for a second forcing me to picked up another artist. I found that artist in Terry(Pop the Baker) Moses. We recorded tracks together like Crackman, Round Here My NI&&As, and Why U Lie? In December Of 2005 We hooked up with The Filthy Animals Music Group(also on soundclick.com). In Feb 2006 in the same week Tae Silencer and Young Slim came home and we started working on songs Like Ya Da Mean and V.A. We are currently doin shows at the VA House Of Comedy in Virginia Beach Va. Looking Back we came through alot to get to were we are now lost a few and gained a few. That's why I feel it's our destiny to do this music and with the Filthy Animals Music Group there's no stopping stopping us. This is the future of Hip-Hop O.B.C.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We did shows at the Moton, a local spot that showcases talent in Newport News Va. We do the Virginia House of Comedy every week located in Virginia Beach Va. We did shows at Infinity's night club in Newport News and other local spots. We love performing it's a part of our persona. It's what makes the audience feel O.B.C. So many special moments but the one that sticks out is is September 10 2005 outside the Moton Community Center. We rock it and received so much love.
