Check outBand/artist history
The history of Mos Eisley goes way back to the mid eighties when drummer Mattias Starander, singer Daniel Magnusson and bassplayer Christian Gronlund were playing around as really young teenagers in their first band ever, as always dead serious but as they recall it without a real band-name. Things didnt start to happen musically til a few years later when they started a band called Major N.A. The music was inspired by bands like The Cult, GunsnRoses and AC/DC.
Christian left Major N.A at an early stage but the others released a nowadays extremely rare self-titled CD in 1993 on the Swedish label MNW Records, while Christian tried his wings with a band called Freak Kitchen. Christian recently quit Freak Kitchen after nine years and 4 full lenght albums to give his full musical powers to Mos Eisley. He was also one of the brains behind the Gothenburg based band The Green Jesus Saviours (together with for example Silver Silver of Hardcore Superstar).
Soon after the Major N.A record was released Mattias continued his musical carreer in other bands, for example he was seen as the drummer of the hard-hitting quartet Transport League for some years. Daniel tried his wings on his own but he soon joined up with Mattias again and they started to collaborate with some new songs, and they discovered the highly talented singer Zara.
They recorded a few songs but soon realised that they needed a bassplayer to go all the way, so they called Christian, who was eager to try something new besides Freak Kitchen. This was 3 years ago and a great bunch of great songs has been written since. Mos Eisley is now a full-grown rock group with five members. Mattias, Christian, Daniel and Zara recently found themselves a splendid guitar-player in Fredrik Stenberg. Fredrik had some success recording and touring with his former band RoadRatt (RoadRatts singer Christer is now the new bass player in Freak Kitchen, strange or what?...) until they split up some years ago. Fredrik has been working with music as a freelance musician during the latest years and has worked with as different artists as Julio Iglesias and Svullo. Fredrik has also been a very popular program host at Radio City 107,3 in Gothenburg for the last 5 years.
Mos Eisley really is a band to watch out for, they believe in themselves and theyre fully convinced that their unique blend of steaming rock, soul and pumping grooves will take the globe by storm. The band promise to do whatever it takes to reach out to all of you who got lobotomized by this rotten biz to believe that youre fully satisfied with the music you hear on the radio or on MTV. Mos Eisley will guide you and convince you that there still is hope for this musical planet.Have you performed in front of an audience? We love to play live and we try to put up a greater and more bombastic show every time. After all our greatest live heroes are artists like early Kiss and Van Halen etc.
