What do you call a group of rag-tag MC's all getting together to form a group that becomes more than a group; but rather a project?
The Dark Ninjas Project does just that! Each track features a different variety of rappers from all over the country coming together to make one album. This is not just a super group, this is more like a compilation but with all the artist working together rather than indivuadly on seperate tracks.Band/artist history
When the Dark Ninjas originally formed it was comprised of two members; Bunny Man and Cryptic Ninja (Who would come to be known as Budz' McGee and Big C Cronik respectively). After the two were literally split by a country Budz' decided to go solo, but ended up finding himself right back where he started; only now he had a few more friends. What started as a presumably stoned rap session in the ghetto garage studio quickly turned into an entire album concept. The Dark Ninjas were then re-born; not as just as a group, but as a project.Have you performed in front of an audience?Since the Dark Ninjas is largly a collaboration effort from artist all over the country doing a show would be difficult. Budz', who is the lead artist in the project, would most likely incorporate some DN marterial in any performance he were to do. To talk to Budz' about doing a show you can contact him through this page.
Your musical influences
Coming from Budz': I hate when asked about my musical influences; it sets up a sort of gap people then expect you to fall into. I can point out obvious influences in what I write (such as Corporate Avenger, KMK, Bloodhound Gang, and Dead Prez) but that isn't the entire list of artist that have influenced me. How can anyone listen to a Behthoven peice and not be influenced by it? Everything you see and here influences you, and they all seem to find their way into your work. What equipment do you use?
We use purely ghetto tactics, all with a couple of mics and a laptop.Anything else?
