I write and record all my songs on an 8 track set up. I've got a small room now instead of using the kitchen although I do have to share the space with my daughter as the computers in the room too. I normally write around 4 am. I get woken up with some song banging in my head. It won't shut up till I write it all down. I write in various style from Rock through to Country. My main interest is to get a publishing deal. It would be great to get paid for doing something I love. I'm a member of the ISA - that's where I read about Soundclick, by the way. The ISA are great I'd recommend them to anyone. They're so helpful even if you're asking some really dumb question. I've dabbled in poetry and music for a large part of my life. I like to listen to all kinds of music. I would hate to be asked what my favourite song or artist is. Some days it's Mozart, some days Black Sabbath - the Ozzy version, mind -then another day maybe Eva cassidy.
I have taken my writing more seriously in the past couple of years. I'm gradually improving my gear as and when I can afford it.
I don't currently play live. I have been in some performance situations with other people though. Mainly in a Variety sense.
As I said in my intro section, I love all sorts and pick up ideas from everything. Some voices I really admire are Billie Holliday, Eva Cassidy, Judy Garland,Bette Midler, Ozzy Osbourne, Liam Gallagher,Tom Petty,Percy Sledge, Robbie Williams and John Lennon. Bands:- Black Sabbath, Oasis, The Jam, Pink Floyd, Blur, Gorillaz Kinks, Wizzard, Bangles, Composers:- Lennon McCartney, Ray Davies, Eric Sate Al Stewart, Mozart,Debussy, Janis Ian and loads more too numerous to mention.
Two MD4s, only 7 tracks work though. Picoverb reverb unit. Yamaha PSR 630. A Audia Techna mike.
