Scavenger's Daughter

Band/artist history
In a scene saturated with vacant, mediocre entities, Memphis, Tennessees NIGHTS LIKE THESE stand out among the crowd. NIGHTS LIKE THESE have fused the full sonic spectrum of metal, mixing the full-on assault of Converge, the frenzy of Between The Buried And Me, the interwoven melodies of Mastodon, the unpredictability of The Red Chord and the metallic riffage of Darkest Hour. While the band is directly influenced by many Artists, any attempt to label them as merely an amalgam of influences would fail to do NIGHTS LIKE THESE justice. Guitarists Derren Saucier and Matt Qualls seamlessly weave intricate, cacophonic tangents with face-meltingly brutal breaks and an occasional epic rage to pull your heart from your chest. Bassist Sebastian Rios and drummer Patrick Leatherwood provide the framework for the controlled madness that runs the gamut from blast beat-filled death metal intensity to blistering bouts of double bass, without being overbearing or mindlessly repetitive. Upon this canvas of chaos, vocalist Billy Bottom opens himself up to paint shockingly intense and brutally honest images with his blood and fears. Having shared the stage with the likes of Poison the Well, Bury Your Dead, The Red Chord and Skinless among countless others, the group is far more experienced than one would expect from a band whose average age is merely twenty. At the forefront of the burgeoning Memphis music scene, NIGHTS LIKE THESE has garnered the largest local following of any band, regularly playing to packed crowds of hungry masses who know each word to every song from every one of the band's three demos. The energy generated from the band's live performance is palpable; the stage is all but aflame when this quintet tears through their set list of grinding, unforgiving, heavy metal. "We play what we want to hear", says vocalist Billy Bottom, "and if people like it, that's great, if not, then whatever. We definitely have a lot up our sleeve and wont be stopping anytime soon." NIGHTS LIKE THESE enter the studio this Spring to record their full length debut for Victory Records. Their incendiary debut will be released on June 13, 2006, and a deafening buzz for these metal pioneers is already building. Be prepared for NIGHTS LIKE THESE to reinvent the meaning of metal and bring an unexpected new sound to a generation of hungry souls in 2006.
